NOTES

Whilst this disc was not offered for sale until 2004, the interview from an acetate was made available on the Unicorn bootleg Acetate Collection in 2001 and at the time it was assumed that this disc was the source.

However in 2018, a second acetate was auctioned and is probably more likely the source, as this disc appears to have been owned by Mr Maurice Kinn's family almost since it was cut. I am currently unable to locate the low resolution mp3 offered at the time of the 2004 auction, if yo have a copy it would be interesting to do a comparison.

Auction Description -2004

A rare opportunity to own a truly unusual and special Beatles artefact
I needn't stress how rare this item is but there are only known to be two copies made of this acetate.
This One- sided disc features an 'Interview' between the then BBC disc jocky Kenny Everett and John Lennon Recorded at Abbey Road Studios at an inexact date in 1968 during the making of the white album.
.
Duration is 13:37 - Contains several impromptu ad libs and musical outbursts from John Lennon who was in a playful mood; barking and whining mainly nonsensical verse alongside 'conversation' with the very reverential Kenny Everett.
Basically Everett is trying to glean information about the forthcoming project (the white album - as yet unnamed) and then, when not much actual hard information is forthcoming, gently eggs Lennon on to ever higher levels of lunacy and sits back to let him vent - it's fascinating stuff if a little weird - think 'In my own write' but without the pictures.... Largely dominated by Lennon although later on the other band members can be heard in the background and they occasional try to intervene. Everett has requested that the band sing him a 'goodbye jingle' and it more-or-less comes about eventually...
The disc ends with an unknown person (he announces himself and it sounds like 'Tony Ellis-Stone') explaining the location and event (but not unfortunately the exact date).
Highlights include an amusing rendition of 'Cottonfields' a new take on a Creedence Clearwater Revival song - "when I was a little bitty baby my mama used to smash me in the cradle..."
This copy alongside the only other known copy were both made at Abbey Road studios and were given to a Mr. Maurice Kinn (former owner of the New Musical Express) It is now the property of Mr. Kinn junior.
Please ask any question you like except 'what's the reserve?' - I will not tell you under any circumstances.
I want to be absolutely clear that no time-wsters will be tolerated - SERIOUS bidders only please.

(the full length MP3 was generated at low-resolution to make a small file easy to download - actual sound quality is great) here is a small sample at high quality
