Auction Description - 2014THE BEATLES: A 'MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR' ACETATE AND EP, 1967, The Beatles began recording this, the title track for their forthcoming EP, on 25th April 1967. This acetate would therefore date to the end of April or the begining of May: Mark Lewisohn, in 'The Complete Beatles Chronicle', (Pyramid Books, 1992, p.253) notes that rough mono mixes were made on the 27th April in order that acetates could be produced.
This version differs slightly to that released: it lacks the opening lines, 'Roll Up, Roll Up For The Mystery Tour, Step Right This Way' and there is a fraction of a second's worth of noise just before the opening of the track. |
