The second Yesterday EMI acetate I have seen and interestingly it carries a '2' down by the 'KEEP SURFACE CLEAN' comment. Looking almost identical to the previously known version which may have a small '1' in the same location. If the auction notes are correct it also has a similar history to the other version. Sold in June 2011 with a letter of authenticity and CD of the discs
contents, which are likely to be the standard versions |

Auction Description - 2011The acetate was given to the vendor and her late husband by a friend who worked as a Marketing Assistant at EMI. As discussed by Ian Shirley in the Record Collector Magazine the single was not released in the UK until 1977 although it was released in the USA in 1965. The vendor recalls this acetate being given to her in 1965 when it may have been produced prior to release in America. |
