THE BEATLES - (THE) LONG AND WINDING ROAD 7" - ORIGINAL UK EMIDISC ACETATE (PLUS BASKIN & COPPERFIELD RECORDINGS). Brilliant set of 3 x 7" recordings with rich musical history! To include the original (single sided) Emidisc acetate of (The) Long And Winding Road. Visually the record (with printed Emidisc label and handwritten Long And Winding Road) is in G+ condition showing a number of marks and scuffs, there are no heavier scratches. The record plays in solid VG condition with some low lying surface noise though no skips, sticks or jumps. The acetate was given to Alan Williams of The Rubettes and included in the lot is the original Decca (single sided) 7" acetate (VG condition) and also the stock UK 7" (F 13053 - VG); Williams covered the song early on in his illustrious career as part of the duo Baskin & Copperfield.

Auction Description - 2018

A rare 1970 one sided 7" acetate of 'The Beatles' track 'The Long and Winding Road' with Emidisc label and blue ballpoint writing of title track. Condition is fair/good with some scratches. Disc is being sold by Alan Williams of 'The Rubettes' who covered this song early on his career as part of the double act 'Baskin & Copperfield' where they scored a minor hit. The disc was given to Alan by Decca records as a precursor demo to their 1970 record release on Decca F13053.
