An unusual 10" acetate , that has been offered for sale twice. If any one can provide any extra details could they please contact me with details, including the UK store EIL sale. In 2011 another similar looking 10" acetate was offered for sale on the online internet auction site eBay , but for me doesn't feel right. I have no evidence to support the matter either way but would remind collectors of the wise statement Caveat emptor when dealing with acetates. They were a standard recording media of the period and blank discs were sold by the tin full. Just because it is an EMI acetate does not guarantee that it was cut by or for EMI or the Beatles or that it contains any rare or new Beatles material. |

2004 - Auction InfoAn unusual acetate recording of `Tell Me Why' by the Beatles, Footnotes :This may well have been produced for the limited series of 78rpm singles released on the overseas market. |
2004? - Shop InfoTHE BEATLES Tell Me Why (Fantastically rare 1964 UK 10" 78 RPM 1-sided EMI metal acetate, possibly made for the Indian market [released there as DPE172], with hand written Emidisc company labels. The acetate itself has very few signs of being forty years old & would be graded EX on it's own - A superb & unusual piece of Fab Four history!).
