Comments:

An interesting disc that has appeared in public more often than most, both myself and others reported the sale of this disc in November 2008 by the UK auction house Fame Bureau Limited,London . The source was the ebay live auction link and there was no suggestion that the sale was not completed until December when the disc was reoffered. The subsequent attempted sale with ever decreasing price just confuses matters further. In June 2011 the disc was offered for sale again by Christie's using the same lot description as their previous sale in 2000.

The post 2008 sales have the disc framed and glazed and it is unclear when this was created/added..

Whilst the content has not been formally identified, the description suggests that this is a recording of the Olympic Sound rhythm tracks before the Vocals were over dubbed on the 19 June 1967. On the 21 June mono mixing was undertaken of Take 10 from the 14 June session and an acetate of cut of the second unnumbered mix and given to Derrek Burrel Davis, of the BBC.

I believe that this disc may be the disc cut on the 21 June 1967 and contains the second unnumbered Mono Mix of the rhythm track of Take 10 .

Any additional information greatly appreciated along with information on the acetate offered for sale 26 May 1994 by Christie's unknown lot but sale 6496.

Christie's Sales Description

This is the only known acetate of the full-length recording of this 1967 Beatles single, which originally ran for 6 minutes 39 seconds [in comparison with the 3 minutes 40 seconds of the released version]. This predominantly instrumental take was recorded on 14th June 1967 at Olympic Studios in Barnes. It features John Lennon on harpsichord, Paul McCartney on double bass, Ringo Starr on drums and George Harrison on rudimentary violin. John Lennon adds occasional vocals as a guide to where the chorus of the song will be.
In this form, the song has something of the chaotic structure of other 1967 work-in-progress by the Beatles, like Only A Northern Song and You Know My Name (Look Up The Number), with little of the precision or melodic commerciality of the finished record.
This acetate documented the state of the recording at the end of the 14th June session, before vocals and a more conventional backing were added at their next session on 19th June.
All You Need Is Love was subsequently used as Britain's contribution to the first worldwide TV broadcast, Our World, on 25th June, 1967.
