NOTES
It is unclear why this reel exists, it is dated the day after the compilation and master Tape Banding of the 'Get Back' unreleased album, which is probably what the note, "ORIGINAL MIX ON THE L.P." , on the tape box refers. Whilst I have not listened to the tape, the description is easily recognised with John's comments and parts have appeared on dozens of unauthorized Get Back Beatlegs releases.

2019- Auction InfoTHE BEATLES/DIG A PONY/I'VE GOT A FEELING MASTER TAPE REEL. An[sic] boxed reel of 10" BASF tape, with handwritten notes to the verso indicating that the contents include recordings of 'Dig a Pony' and 'I've Got a Feeling' that differ from the released versions. Information in the hand of Glyn Johns (initials on box) Box dated May 29, 1969. SCRAP written across the back of the box in the hand of Malcolm Davies. Information supplied by the vendor suggest that these are alternate, unreleased versions of the tracks. Notes from the vendor on the contents: Dig A Pony - Time: 3:38 (Different from the released version)The tape starts with the Beatles jamming and then John says “All right ladies we're off” Then a four count and a false start and then another 4 count and into the song. The song ends with John singing “Yes I do” after the chorus of “All I want is you.” Straight into I've Got A Feeling. I've Got A Feeling - Time: 2:39 (Different from the released version). The song ends with John saying “I can't do it when it's loud, not bad though". Please note, this item is sold as an artefact only and no copyright (s) are included with this sale. |
