We have an acoustic themed disc formulated around the MTV Unplugged show and it's rehearsal , with a few bonus tracks. The disc was instantly rebuked for lack of new material. Some sources identify this as a Yellow Dog subsidiary, the disc has a low quality feel, but things are confused by the next two Audiofön releases , which look even more home-made.

The opening track Kansas City is listed as being a rejected track from the Leiber/Stoller tribute Album - Baby, That's Rock 'n' Roll , which first appeared on the Batz collectors label title Kansas City and Word of Love plus 20 Other Acoustic Songs.

Words of Love is from the BBC TV 'Arena' special - The Real Buddy Holly Story , first broadcast 12 September 1985, and has subsequently been made available on budget video and DVD and maybe your preferred source. The audio track was previously available on the Ram Records release Completed Rarities "Video Gems" , but appears here in better quality.

The 'Unplugged' rehearsal was originally split over nine different Oobu Joobu radio show/ Yellow Cat discs making this somewhat easier to listen . Unlike earlier CD titles where the lack of material limited the length of the disc labels now appreciate the need to provide better value for money and the next three tracks are three sound checks also from the Oobu Jobu series.

The proportions of the MTV show not broadcast appeared on Mistral Music's 1992 release Plugged and Unplugged along with the complete Ain't No Sunshine , these tracks are reissued here in a similar quality. It is a shame that the slack on the disc wasn't used to put the remaining unbroadcast pieces of the show including alternate We Can Work It Out , which appear on the Starline title More Unplugged - Off The Ground Tracks .

The track listing on the artwork is incorrect with track 5, Cut Across Shorty / Hi Heel Sneakers , being split into two tracks on the disc. All tracks after 5 are therefore numbered one to low on the artwork.

With the rehearsal being on one disc and the difficulty obtaining Mistral's short title I would give this title core status.
