I have spent most of last night and today re-building the 'Unforgettable'
LP - let's face it, if HMC
were not willing to do it, someone had to!
This is simply Side 1 of the LP - The McCartney
Christmas Album.
This is the album that HMC should have issued as part of
a 2CD set (in my mind anyway), but instead issued on vinyl in dreadful
quality. So here is the vinyl album presented in digital quality, all
intros taken from the bonus CD, and each song from the original album
'Unforgettable' is also presented in much better quality
than the LP.
During the making of this 'remaster' (it is technically a re-build) I
also noticed that HMC had taken a few liberties with the
material, splitting one of Paul's intros in two to place
between two songs - the dialogue intros Martha and the Vandellas,
but was split to also intro the Beach Boys song...
This has been restored to it's original form as it is clearly one piece
of dialogue, and the song order has been corrected in accordance with
this liberty taking (see explanation below in track list.) If this is
wrong, someone please correct me, but in the unedited CD material, Paul
in one section of dialogue intro Heatwave, and then after two tracks back
refs The Beach Boys. So the order of the tracks must have
been tinkered with.
I believe that a remaster may also be on the cards for the more important
CD content. Keep your eyes on the prize people. ;)
