Comments:

As with the jewel case edition this is and probably always was an obsolete title, not including the broadcast instrumental jams, despite adequate space on the disc, plus the recreated line-up and intro's.

Note incorrect matrix of 9301 rather than 9310, if it was not for the multiple pressings of earlier titles and the number of pirates produced at the time I would have considered this as a possible fake.

I personally dislike digipaks so for any label completests I would recommend the jewel case addition.


Original Comments:

The television show UP Close was recorded on the 10 and 11 December 1992 and after studio sweetening in Jan 1993 was first broadcast on 3 February 1993.

Pluto Records have taken the soundtrack reordered the tracks and edited out the interviews and instrumental jams creating fake intro's for Off The Ground and Get Out Of My Way using other material from the show. These edits are not very apparent and is comparable to other bootleg labels who merely faded down the track . It is a shame about the reordering.

At the time of release was a good way of obtaining the sweetened broadcast, but as DVD video became more common, collectors may wish to look out the complete video show on releases such as Misterclaudel' s Up Close Two Nights which collates the vast majority of available material.

There is also a digipak pressing with an alternate pressing master, and looks to have manufactured at an alternate plant, possibly Pilz.
