| I have just got around to ... put them on CD, but discovered that they needed some TLC. The tape recorder that recorded the show had an auto level control that was constantly overloading, so it would push down the signal. Then the level would rise slowly until it reached the threshold and get pushed down again. So it made for an up-and-down volume listening experience. I straightened out all the level variations, and sped it up a bit to match A=440 and corrected the phase, and did several tweaks so that it didn't sound quite so harsh. Tracks were resplit on sector boundaries. I think you will like it now, if a fairly distant audience recording can be said to be likable! |
