It seems that I was not the only person who spotted the missing interview and a swift reissue including the complete Radio CAE broadcast with updated artwork was a pleasant surprise and bonus. Unfortunately the repeated material was not edited or a correction to the ticket on the cover, but a nice upgrade making the original release obsolete within days. |

Since I originally posted this, our own keeper of the treasure trove, twbf, has sent me the master recording of the Radio CAE (Canadian Army Europe) coverage of the Essen concert and interviews by Corporal Camie McKay. Only the Beatles interview section has been previously issued, but it didn't sound like this. It is no longer over modulated and distorted. This is the debut of the entire program, including music and interviews with Achim Reichel of The Rattles and Peter Asher. The music has been replaced, because the original recordings were made from out-of-phase tape transfers, and were plagued by the swishing and swirling of phase cancellations. It is quite an improvement over what we used to have. So it was added to this disc following the original contents. Many thanks to twbf! What a guy! |
