Comments: Another pirate release of the Mono Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album, this version is reportedly copied form tape , which should have the same mixes. At the time of release it was the only factory pressed source and as a reportable good transfer will have held CORE status. There have since been several releases and I have not done and am not aware of any A/B comparisons having been made.

In 2001 the Dr Ebbetts Sound System needle drop was released and probably became the core choice. There have been several other needle drops from well respected sources and indeed there have also been different label 'drops' which may now sound better. In 2007 a Japanese factory pressed label copied the D.E.S.S release with generic artwork.

Until the release of the official product, the choice is vast and will depend upon your personal preferences , enjoy the hunt and if you find what you consider to be the absolute CORE must have version please drop me a line.
