Comments:

An unusual release, in that the cover and records do not match, but they are not a marriage, as I have yet to find any copies with the correct contents.

I suspect the reason is that the wrong stampers were used. The catalogue number 3795 was used for three sides and I suspect the original plan was a that it would be a double LP , but no four side came to hand, subsequently the Washington concert, 3795c was paired with an earlier B side . When it came to repress Sweden 1963 3795A/B the 3795c pairing was chosen in error.

Original Comments:

Contra Band Music obtain a new Beatles concert, an audience recording of a screening of the Closed Circuit TV broadcast - recording March 1964 along with screening audience. Whilst not the greatest recording or source it was new material and remained the core source of the show until they located a better source which they released as First United States Performance on their King Kong sub label.

It appears from the catalogue number 3795c that the show was originally scheduled for an earlier release as part of a double LP along with Sweden 1963 and I suspect they were looking for material for the flip slide and when this is didn't appear it was decided to repress side 2 of Live In Europe & US TV Casts.

On the assumption that the recycled sleeve variations were released around the same time reissues of this slower quality Washington recording were being pressed and distributed along side the new and improved King Kong title.

A further anomaly presed in 1975 was a King Kong labeled release Sweden which appears to have been pressed from these rather than the 3795 A/B stampers, probably intended.
