Comments:

The first release of Decca material from the fan club label. As with the other singles in the series it remained core material until 2007 for those brief seconds of canter not previously copied until a the needle drop expert Dr Ebbetts located a prime set and made an excellent transfer on his new Decca release The Decca Audition.

The first release from this fan club label there were primarily blue vinyl with the unique purple label with silver text. Sellers have identified the multicolored versions as pressed for family and friends but this could just be a sales pitch, but they look great and are exceptionally rare. As with all the Deccagone releases these have been copied numerous times, some from a stamper made from the original.

In April 2004 Heritage Auctions sold the stampers from the Joe Pope Archive. The matrices in the run-off groves matches the first pressings and do not include the catalogue numbers. Both had blue vinyl residues around the centre.

Alternate Versions

Joe Pope printed in his fanzine that there were fakes being sold of his titles as have other authors. There appear to be three distinct versions using different stampers and copied artwork. Version #2 is by far the most common with its darker fuzzy artwork and green labels.
