Without discussing the legality of the European Protection Gap releases, it is difficult to determine whether this was the second Italian Boootleg, or just an unauthorized budget release. However it was unauthorized and the issue of paid royalties who be a clear issue of any legal debate with many copies appearing with SIAE machine stamps.

The pressing plant Masters were cut on the 13th November 1973, two months after And The Beatles Were Born , another Beatles compilation release on the Napoleon label. With the structure of Joking's parent company, Saar Records, I believe this 'Gray' release whilst not the first Italian Bootleg , it must have been one of the most circulated. Joking International Records the first Italian budget label distributed its catalogue to department stores, record suppliers at home and internationally, mail order and even sub licensing releases in some other countries. This title was also available on cassette in several variations.

For the collector there is nothing of musical interest, historically as the first Italian Beatleg it may have a interest to archivists.

Dating of specific pressings is based upon the SIAE machine stamps.

Initially I thought the label variations were print deviations, but as my sample size has grown it is apparent that the A & B sides of releases have the same printing variations , with only one cross over being observed. So I have uplifted them to a pressing rather than print variations.
