The initial press run, of record 1, was split with 290 on the 22nd January 1987 and 210, balance of 500, on the 2 February. With a further repress from these stampers we have three label variations available for record 1, it is not a massive leap to assume that two different labels were used for the split runs. Having only seen the Max Hammer variation on record 1 and circulated with Toasted second records, I have assumed that they were used to complete the balance of the first run, possibly because they ran out of Toasted Side I/II labels. To use one of Ken's quotes 'It could have happened this way' .
