NOTES
Several sources identify the footage as being filmed on the 19 Aug 1963, but I was unhappy with the date, not only because of The Beatles appearance but also the 1961 Vanden Plas Princess limo , that they were traveling in. After ruling out the obvious Bournemouth related dates, I established that the only date this could be was the 13 Nov 1963, when they traveled from Southend to Plymouth. It was then easy to match their clothing and the car to both locations on this date. Clearly they stopped off for lunch at the hotel on route to Plymouth. In Whilst we have a photograph of John filming towards the hotel in the direction Paul arrives from, I'm not convinced that the angle is right The 'hotel' footage is followed by John in the rear of the limo and appears to have the same clothing , so I have provisionally placed it on this reel. |
