Feb 2006 - Auction InfoThe Beatles-A rare piece of 8mm cine film of the Beatles live in concert, taken at the Nottingham Odeon on 12 December 1963. Apart from several performances especially staged for TV filming this is believed to be the earliest known film of the Beatles playing live on tour in the UK (as discussed with Bryony Cranstoun, Apple Anthology Production Manager, in 1998). The film was taken by a female fan and has been in private ownership ever since. Although a DVD copy is available for viewing at Cameo, further copies are not available for distribution in order to protect the originality of the piece (NB. panning quality on the DVD is poorer than that shown on the cine film itself). The DVD is believed to be the only copy ever made and is sold with the original cine film. The cine film runs for two and a half minutes, is in black and white and without sound. The film is sold with copyright. |
