When I saw this item for sale it instantly rang warning bells, an 'Excellent' condition 10" acetate with a label that is very similar to a previously sold 7" acetate. The disc was sold without provenance. I have no evidence to support the matter either way but would remind collectors of the wise statement Caveat emptor when dealing with acetates. They were a standard recording media of the period and blank discs were sold by the tin full. Just because it is an EMI acetate does not guarantee that it was cut by or for EMI or the Beatles or that it contains any rare Beatle material. |

2011 - Auction InfoExcellent condition, one-sided 1960s Rock & Roll 10" 45 rpm ACETATE by THE BEATLES entitled "I Am The Walrus" on EMIdisc Records (no #). Awesome version of the Fab Four's later-1960s classic. This one is listed as 4:35 in length! I'm not sure if this is exactly the same as the released version?? Condition = solid VG/VG+ (light paper scuffs - plays through fine though!, LISTEN TO AN ACTUAL SOUND CLIP!). |
