Comments:

Shortly after the release of the Untouched - Off Elektra Acetate by Idol Mind Products , this fan created label took on the task to clean up the raw CD and produced a version that was considerably better than the bonus CDR offered by IMP with the first editions of their release.

As the existence of the Elektra acetate was not commonly known, research was started and comparisons between this and the tape of an acetate, which was broadcast by WBCN and many other radio stations in 1969. As information and slight variations came to light . Helterskelter Records took the opportunity to review their release and issued an update Get Back: The Elektra Acetate with a couple of patches . This remastered reissue is an improvement and took Core Status.

Release Notes:

This is remastered from the recent Japanese CD 'Elektra Acetate' which itself was a direct transfer of the original acetate.
They mis-spelled the label, as it is actually on 'Electrola' label, and also mis-quoted this as being Glyn John's 1st Get Back Mix, which it is not. It is an acetate which came after that disc was cut - with a different track list, and track order. But this did come before the 2nd Johns Mix cut in early 1970 (BTW, please correct me if I am wrong on this, I am simply aiming to get the historical context a bit more accurate than IMP did.)

History lesson aside, I have restored this recording but undoing the compression on the original CD disc, de-clicking and de-popping the disc (sometimes manually click-by-click). I have also correct the phase, pitch (which was pretty much fine) and also the corrected the levels.

There is a minimal amount of vinyl noise on some of the cuts, but I refuse to use noise reduction to remove this as this does serious damage to the recordings. So this is pretty much a raw acetate restored.

This stereo acetate has been released previously, but this is without doubt the best transfer I have ever heard (the spectral range is beyond that of a normal CD at over 25k - and almost twice the range of the Misterclaudel disc of this acetate), and I hope that my extra work has made this historic recording even more desirable.

Some tracks on this disc are available in better quality on the official disc 'Let It Be... Naked.'
