Comments:

The first of two unusual tribute releases from Yellow Cat takes it's title direct from the two radio shows it copies albeit in the wrong order; Around The World Let it Rock does quiet have the same feel though. It appears that Yellow Dog had held these shows for a few years with small portions having been previously released on various subsidary labels.Unfortunately both shows suffer from a back ground hiss.

The first show is a US syndicated show Around The World #61 first broadcast on the 5 October 1975, presented here without the commercials. The show is based around an interview with George by the UK DJ Alan Freeman which was recorded on the 18 October 1974, unconfirmed. The interview is seguaed with music played from commercial releases but also includes half a dozen short Acoustic Guitar Renditions played whilst discussing song writing wit the interviewer who comments on George's appearance as he plays Dark Horse , track 3.

Three of these Acoustic Guitar Renditions had previously been released on the Strawberry Records release A True Legend but appear in better qualiity here. Whilst I am not an interview fan, I would have prefered the interview raw with out the overdubbed comercial releases which in part interupted the interview. It is not unreasonabel to assume tha this circulates as a another Yellow Dog / Orange release John, Paul, George & Ringo has the Dark Horse rendition from a tape

The second show was the season finale of Joe Brown's BBC Radio 2 show which was first broadcast on the 5 July 1999, the artwork says that it is presented without commercials, which is amusing as the BBC is a public broadcast station without ad's. Whilst an interesting but short 'chat' between old friends discussing 'Rock' this very listenable disc is not likely to be on a top play list of many collectors.

Track 8 is listed as a Chuck Berry:an instrumental B-side, despite George clearly identifying the track in his chat with Joe.

As with the previous disc/radio show Yellow Cat had previously released part of the show, theming a whole disc I Got Stung around Paul's pre album and alternate mix which formed the show finale. Joe says that he met Paul at the Yellow Submarine Preview, a couple of weeks ago , who said he liked Joe's show and when he heard it was his last show he did a special mix and sent it over. I Got Stung is thought to have been recorded at the beginning of March 1999 , so clearly this would place the mix to a four month window , possibly June . However I have been unable to trace any details of the preview that Joe refers.
