Recording History

NOTES

The first trace of this acetate I can locate is in 2016 on an eBay auction, it looks very similar to other discs .Whilst acetates were the recording media of the day, this looks to be another genuine discs and further raises the query how rare are Dick James acetates and what was their purpose. I assume that the audio will be the standard mono mix.

When the disc was re-auctioned in 2025 the 'beach stripe' parlophone sleeve was replaced with a green 1964/56 Parlophone sleeve

The Beatles All My Loving

Ultra rare original UK Dick James one sided metal lacquer 7" acetate disc

I believe this was originally in the possession of a former employee of one of Brian Epstein's NEMS record stores.

This disc has almost certainly been in the hands of all four Beatles and George Martin.

The disc is in good condition as RC guide, has a slight skip, otherwise plays ok.

Particularly interesting as "All My Loving" was never a single in the UK.

2016 - Auction Info

Original 1963 demo of "All My Loving". In okay condition and hadn't been played for testing as I have nothing to play it on, but is an extremely rare record - I don't believe one has been listed for 11 years.
