NOTES

The has been so much written about the famous Some Other Guy acetates, unfortunately the majority of it is either incomplete or wrong with numerous facts being shuffled .I do not currently have the whole picture, but hopefully I have been able to point investigations in the right direction. If you have any facts or images please free to drop me a message.

To start with there looks to have been two double sided acetates, with Some Other Guy on both sides, sold at the UK auction house Sotheby's and that they have appeared more than once. Another Some Other Guy disc has been sold by Christie's but this was backed with Kansas City.

Unfortunately the auction catalogue has no image of the disc, Sotheby's did however hold 'listening' sessions and an article in The Beatles Book No. 82 - Feb 1983 provided a review.

A VERY RARE ACETATE OF THE BEATLES UNRELEASED RECORDING SOME OTHER GUY - EST - £2500 - £5000
Recorded live at the Cavern Club with introduction by the resident DJ Bob Wooler recorded on both sides without labels or markings 2 mins 15 sec on each side, probably August 1962, Some Other Guy was a standard inclusion in the repertoire of many groups of the period and the Beatles never properly recorded or released the song.  It was later released by the group The Big Three, the acetate was originally purchased at the NEMS Liverpool shop at a sale of singles for half a crown.
