Known Disc Errors

I'm regularly asked if I know whether a disc has an error additionally it is a common query in many forums. So an attempt to assist I have this working document. The information below is what I have been told and verified I can not consider it to either be a complete list or even accurate.

But any helpful comments additions would be appreciated, especially if you have a 'clean'/error free copy.

Descriptions

Bumps

Where there is no flow between tracks, usually only a fraction of a second so NOT recorded TAO but clearly not right. Possible MP3 sources .

Mastering/Pressing Error

Considerable Read errors leading to a track not playing. Older players may spit out the disc or just STOP playing

Tracking error

Some titles struggle to hold onto the music and may skip even though there is no error with the disc. This can be a common problem for older machines where longer play discs are used where the tracking will be tighter. i.e. trying to play and 80 or 90+ minute disc.

The collated information is from hundreds of sources, I am unable to verify the accuracy of any information implied or provided .

I neither own these discs or know how to obtain them , so any Corrections or New material is always appreciated.
