Interestingly not only has this concert been available for decades, but also from multiple, at least four, sources. Which makes it even more surprising that until the early 90's it was misidentified as one of the 16 June shows and even to date that it still appears mislabelled as either the 16 June or 1 July , the later been more understandable being the broadcast date. To add to the confusion despite being available complete since 1988 , many sources still issue a composite of the Afternoon and Evenings shows to provide a complete shows . I have also have a working note that a radio broadcast in the mid 1990's was of a composite , this could be the source of the Invasion unlimited release in 1997 and subsequent FAKED OUT release. If you have any details of this broadcast could you e-mail me the details. To set the record straight the Australian archive records have this show logged as having been recorded on the 17th June , and not the 16th . There is no information to place this as the evening show , and I continue to search for any information , If any one has been able to trace this can they drop me an email. I have managed to trace details of three Official archived records of this show in Australia. The first by far the most amusing is a bootleg CD, not even the good source. 1. Audio source a Beatleg - BGCD 156 Bulldog Records 2CD - State Library of South Australia Library 2. Sing For Shell (Long Version) - National Film And Sound Archive 3. Sing For Shell (Short Version) - With the current archive medium being commercial video this is the most likely source to be used for any rebroadcasts. National Film And Sound Archive It is probably the the short version which was used for the RAGE rebroadcast. The archive shows that The Beatles commence their bracket at 13:01. |
