Vigotone Up Close

An up close look at the various configurations that Vigotone and suns. Issued their titles between 1990 and 2001. The Australian quality control was very low and there tends to be numerous label variations for each release.

To view the currently identified variations look at the specific title and to identify possible new variations start by looking at the aluminium mastering and disc mouldings.

It is apparent that all the Australian releases have been produced from a similar disc mould with the Stack ring and Stamp Holder Groove been the same on all releases , with the differences been on the mastering ,matrix, or printing. This is one of several reasons why I believe that the Dynaton 1995 releases to be FAKES.

Vigotone used CDR media to great affect allowing for out of print titles to become available again , but also to continue trading at a time when less than a dozen factory pressed discs entering the United States would draw the attention of the Authorities.

Trying to establish the recording history is somewhat more difficult as there is no linear release of older titles. I have used the media used for new releases as my guide along with the labelling method to determine the order. The Collectability of titles is on different discs is not constant and which title is available in which CDR is also regularly updated.
