I have yet to hear this title but as several tracks have freely circulated on-line I feel able to comment on some of the content. Starting with the concert excerpts. The 'Roy Orbison Tour' tracks were offered as samples to a 15 minute tape with a recording date of 24 May 1963 which would be Walthomstow. Studying Some Other Guy in depth it appears to be unique and not capable of creation from material currently circulating , so whilst there is always some sceptism over new material , I feel that this is genuine. In contrast the Glasgow excerpt has what appears to be repeating audience and must surely be FAKE. The Adelaide material has been sourced from the the 25th Anniversary TV special 'The Beatles Down Under' and was offered free to collectors by the HIWAX label in December 2012.. Neither of the tracks purporting to be on the infamous fan created title Entomology and I will have to wait to see what these track are. Whilst the video of The Tonight Show TV show is currently only available in part as on an 8mm colour recording off the TV, and can be viewed on the FAB Production title Across the Universe 1968, the audio has openly circulated for at least half a dozen years and whilst thi smay be an upgrade it is an exceptionally painful show to listen to. |
